Is it hot where you are too?
Seems as if this blanket of heat has covered the entire US, creating some challenging situations in training and especially racing. But, the show must go on!
We’ll start out in the northwest where temps seemed to be a little cooler with Allan Spangler taking a cool win at the Juneau Marathon, setting the 4th fastest time on that course in its history (2:37:32).
Nora Bird drove from Madison, WI to Idaho with her Rhodesian Ridgeback sitting shotgun to capture the win at the Standhope Ultra 60k trail race in Ketchum, ID!
Tara Warren makes a strong showing on the team report with her fantastic finish at the Ouray 100 mile trail race, capturing 3rd place overall female in what looks and sounds like one of toughest dang things anyone could ever do. We know Tara has been working super hard for this race and the result is a clear sign of her dedication, strength and willpower. Kudos Tara!!
Can we give a big ALOHA shout out to Kelsey Withrow who captured the third place title at Ironman Canada along with a little Aloha spirit by punching her ticket to compete at the Ironman World Championships this October!
Not to be outdone with World Championship qualifications, our friend Felicity Joyce had an absolute #baller performance at Ironman 70.3 Santa Rosa and earned a spot to compete at the 2020 Ironman 70.3 World Championships in New Zealand.
Apparently high altitude training DOES WORK! well, Emily Rollins is pretty awesome without the altitude training, but she just smashed her competition at the Music City Triathlon in Nashville and finished 2nd place overall female!
